
Postpartum Cerrada Ceremony
Birth is a moment. Postpartum is forever. Supporting the mother in this new transformation from maiden to mother, to mother of two, and forever more. Ceremony created to honor and nurture the mother. Realigning her body and energy after expanding for pregnancy and birth. Nahuatlaca culture honored a quarantine of 40 days after birth, knowing the importance that this postpartum period plays on the health and well being of the birthing person.

Bone Closing
The ceremony involves practices that help close the joints, restoring balance and alignment to the mother’s body.
Offering a formal closure to one phase of this pregnancy, and assisting the birthing individual for the next phase, supporting them navigate this transition more smoothly.

Physical and emotional Support
Assisting the mother’s body return to its pre-pregnancy state. Promoting physical healing after the literal physical expansion that occurs during pregnancy and childbirth. Offering emotional and psychological support during a time of significant life transition, helping mothers adjust to their new roles.

Including rituals that honor the journey of motherhood and the spiritual aspects of bringing new life into the world, connecting the mother to her ancestors.
